Located on the Global Campus of Kyung Hee University, Kyunghee Astronomical Observatory was established in 1992 and is used as a research facility. It is equipped with an image room, planetarium, main observation room (circular dome), and outdoor observation area, and possesses state-of-the-art astronomical observation facilities such as a 30-inch large telescope system, a mount for satellite observation, and small-aperture celestial telescopes. It takes about 8 minutes by car from Cheongmyeong IC and about 5 minutes from Yeongtong (Kyung Hee University) Station on the Suin-Bundang Line, with a direct bus from the station. Nearby attractions include Everland, Korean Folk Village, UNESCO World Heritage sites Hwaseong Fortress and Yungneung and Geolleung, Giheung Lake Park, Deokpyeong Dinosaur Arboretum, Starlight Garden Space, and Hantaek Botanical Garden.
