Yeoju Pasaseong Fortress

Pasaseong Fortress is a mountain fortress built along the ridge centered on the peak of Pasasan Mountain, with a circumference of approximately 1,800m and its walls relatively well preserved. It is said to have been built during the reign of King Pasa of Silla (r. 80–112), and during the Imjin War, the monk Uieom gathered monk soldiers and expanded the fortress. In the late Joseon period, the importance of Namhansanseong Fortress increased, reducing the significance of Pasaseong Fortress. Currently, the sites of the east gate and south gate remain. This fortress has a section along the Han River, offering a panoramic view of the river, making it an excellent stronghold for dominating the enemy.
