Why travelers stop here
Mulwang Lake, the largest lake in Siheung-si, is also known as Heungbu Reservoir. When the reservoir was installed in 1945, the administrative districts were Siheung-gun and Bucheon-gun, so the name was taken from the 'heung' of Siheung and the 'bu' of Bucheon-gun. It is the largest freshwater lake in Siheung-si and a representative resting place. Located close to the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Anyang, and Ansan, it is surrounded by Gwanmusan (also known as Seonginbong), Mahasan, and Unheungsan. In 2003, a bicycle path was created between Podong Salt Flats and Mulwang Lake, and the Suin Industrial Road is nearby, providing convenient transportation and abundant amenities. In 2023, the name was changed from Mulwang Reservoir to Mulwang Lake, and the rainbow that appears over Mulwang Lake after rain is so beautiful that it is called a fairyland. The night view of the lake under brilliant lighting is beautiful, making Mulwang Lake a place you want to visit again. There is fun in exploring hidden restaurants and various cafes in every corner, and the beautiful flowers and trees that bloom and wither each season are another attraction.
