Why travelers stop here
Located on Jeokpuri-ro in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, the Shingu University Botanical Garden opened in May 2003 with the aim of developing and researching plant resources, and it systematically collects, conserves, and exhibits plants from Korea and abroad. In addition to plant research, it serves as a practicum site for related academic departments and offers gardening-related education as well as a variety of programs through which the general public can observe nature and gain hands-on experience. From the Garden Café at the entrance, you can look directly onto the central plaza of the Beautiful Forest Exhibition Hall, creating a relaxed atmosphere amid bright, colorful flowers. As an institution that systematically collects, conserves, and exhibits domestic and international plants to discover and study plant resources, it also trains arboretum professionals (gardeners) recognized by the national government (Korea Forest Service). It further contributes to the development of plant culture by offering plant-related vocational training and environmental education for youth and the general public, providing opportunities to observe and experience nature firsthand.
