Why travelers stop here
Located adjacent to Seosamneung in Goyang-si, near Seoul, Wondang Horse Breeding Farm is established and operated by the Korea Racing Authority. During the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, it was also used as a venue for the cross-country event. Due to requests from citizens who were captivated by the farm's pastoral scenery, some facilities have been open to the public since 1997, and it has since become more widely known as a drama filming location. Because there are many hazardous facilities, the open areas are restricted, and rather than special attractions, visitors can enjoy a pastoral landscape where horses graze while taking a walk. This place does not offer horseback riding lessons or horse feeding experiences; instead, it opens walking paths, shade structures, a grass plaza, and restrooms, making it a quiet place for a stroll. With no tall buildings nearby, you can fully enjoy the wide-open fields and high sky, and it is also nice to visit together with the nearby Seosamneung. On the hill above the walking path, there are benches and a small shop where you can rest.
