Why travelers stop here
Gwangju, a spacious town, is a region with high mountains and deep valleys. Sandureun Village, located here, is a typical rural mountain village that remains a clean area with beautiful natural scenery, often called 'Gangwon-do in Gyeonggi.' At the village entrance, there is a grove of 350-year-old zelkova trees, and you can enjoy the unique four seasons created by Taehwa Mountain. In particular, the warmth of Sandureun Village harmonized with winter snow, along with archery competitions and folk play (such as Daljip burning), evokes nostalgia for one's childhood hometown. At the entrance to the village, Yujeong Reservoir spreads out like a picture, and Chugok Reservoir within the village attracts many nearby anglers.
Surrounded by Taehwa Mountain, the village offers a very warm and cozy atmosphere, and various hiking trails allow anyone to easily enjoy mountain climbing. The experience programs of Sandureun Village are largely divided into 'With the Stars' programs and rural experience programs. The 'With the Stars' program includes various star-themed experiences and craft experiences using straw and wood, such as star finding, stargazing, hiking under the stars, and craft experiences (craft demonstrations and wildflower experiences). The rural experience program offers opportunities to experience various rural cultures, including walking around the village, exploring Sandureun by donkey cart, various agricultural product experiences, and Zelkova Yard play.
