K-Culture Screen (National Museum of Korean Contemporary History)

K-Culture Square is a space created to showcase Korea's attractive cultural resources through new technology convergence content such as 3D media art, displaying them around Gwanghwamun and providing cultural experiences for domestic and international visitors. The K-Culture Screen, a digital signage that serves as a public media canvas for creators worldwide, shares culture, art resources, and technology with the public. It shows the history, time, and stories of Gwanghwamun through various content on the bustling streets of Gwanghwamun where people gather and pass by. Three-dimensional media art filled with interesting imagination and audience participation complete a truly meaningful public media canvas. The K-Culture Screen is located at three places: the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, Seoul Metro Art Museum at Gyeongbokgung Station, and Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.

At one of these three locations, the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, a screen is installed at the curved point where the L-shaped outer wall bends, presenting various media art content. Media art with diverse content is screened daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with videos repeating at one-hour intervals, allowing visitors to freely enjoy K-Culture media art at any time. Currently, the media art showcased through the K-Culture Screen features a total of 16 themes: Black Rabbit's Adventure, The Kinetic, Gwanghwamun Objet, Gwanghwamun Chronicle, Gwanghwamun Clock Tower, Tiger, Soft Body, Whale, Wave, Eternal Vitality, Living Monster, Digital Parade, Animal Times, Three Friends of Injeolmi, Hanging Garden, and Lightning—all intriguing content whose titles alone defy easy guessing. Viewing from near the grass yard of Gwanghwamun Square offers the most vivid experience of the anamorphic effect.
