Yongsan Park Partially Opened Site was once part of the Yongsan Garrison. The Yongsan Garrison was an area previously used as a U.S. military base, where American troops were stationed for military purposes. This site was used as a U.S. military base from the 1880s, and the return of the site began after the U.S. military left Seoul in 2004. Subsequently, the Seoul Metropolitan Government established a plan to develop this area into a park. Yongsan Park is a large park in Seoul planned to be approximately 3.5㎢ in size, and the partially opened site is an area opened to citizens during the park's development. The former U.S. military base consisted of military facilities, residential areas, and military roads, and after its return, it is planned to include cultural facilities, rest areas, and sports facilities along with the park.
