Why travelers stop here
After exiting the parking lot of Morning Calm Arboretum and walking along the road lined with restaurants, you will see a spacious parking lot and a hanok-style Korean restaurant with a sign that reads 'Delicious Gyeonggi Top Restaurant'. The cheonggukjang (fermented soybean paste stew) is made with homemade meju (fermented soybean block) from soybeans purchased in Sunchang, Jeollabuk-do, and seasoned with a variety of minced vegetables from the garden, such as green peppers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins. The rice is cooked with Hanseokbong rice grown in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, evoking the warmth of home and a mother's careful touch. Side dishes such as potato pancakes, ssam vegetables, jangtteok (pan-fried soybean paste pancake), acorn jelly, and noodle squash are served neatly and deliciously. The elegant charm of the traditional hanok and the earthenware jars on the jangdokdae (fermentation crock terrace) give visitors a strong sense of hometown nostalgia. They also sell homemade doenjang (soybean paste), cheonggukjang, and pickled vegetables for takeout.
