Yeoju Ongsimi

Yeoju Ongsimi is a potato ongsimi and buckwheat kalguksu specialty restaurant located at 39 Gangbyeonbuk-ro, Ohak-dong, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. The interior is clean and comfortable. Fresh young radish kimchi and shredded radish kimchi are prepared daily and served to customers. The signature menu includes 'Ongsimi-man' and 'Ongsimi Kalguksu,' a mix of potato ongsimi and buckwheat kalguksu. The chewy texture of the soft potato ongsimi is delightful. The broth at Yeoju Ongsimi is differentiated from regular kalguksu broth by adding starch. It has a thick consistency but is not heavy, with a rich, refreshing, and clean taste. The buckwheat is soft and moderately chewy. The jeonbyeong (pan-fried pancake) filled with kimchi and meat is generously stuffed and has a crispy, fried-like texture. The potato jeon is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, with a savory aftertaste of potato. The barley rice served as a pre-meal service, mixed with shredded radish and young radish in gochujang, stimulates the appetite. The spicy, sour, and sweet bibim guksu is also a popular menu item.
