Why travelers stop here
Gyeonggi Sundae-guk is a sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) specialty restaurant located at 27 Samgun 2-gil, Ganam-eup, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. The interior is clean, and although there are many customers, the turnover is fast. The sundae at Gyeonggi Sundae-guk is not chapssal sundae (sticky rice sundae) but abai sundae (a type of sundae from the Hamgyeong region). When ordering sundae, it comes in two types: white sundae and regular sundae. The representative menu items are sagol sundae-guk (beef bone broth sundae soup) and sigol sundae-guk (country-style sundae soup). Sagol sundae-guk is a sundae soup based on a white and milky beef bone broth. The light broth contains plenty of soft and chewy head meat, along with both abai sundae and chapssal sundae. Sigol sundae-guk is a sundae soup with a reddish broth containing gopchang (beef intestines), seonji (congealed blood), ugeoji (dried radish greens), and sundae. The gopchang is well-trimmed and has no odor, and the seonji is cut into bite-sized pieces. Since ugeoji is included, the broth is rich and savory. All sundae soups come with generous portions of ingredients. In addition to kimchi side dishes, minced garlic is served separately; adding garlic enhances the clean taste and improves the flavor. Menu items can be packaged. However, when packaging sundae-guk, it is provided uncooked, excluding rice but with an extra amount of meat.
