Why travelers stop here
Cheongun Literature Library is a culture-specialized library that exudes the serene charm of a traditional Hanok. It provides spaces for reading, contemplation, and relaxation, and operates various reading and cultural arts programs for local residents. The library houses a diverse collection of literary works, primarily poetry, novels, and essays. It also runs various cultural experience programs and is gaining attention as a venue for education. The building was designed considering the sloping terrain and natural scenery of Inwangsan Mountain. It is a meaningful architectural structure that uses handmade roof tiles produced in the same manner as those used in the restoration of Sungnyemun Gate, and reuses over 3,000 Hanok roof tiles salvaged from the demolished Donuimun New Town area. Together with nearby Yun Dong-ju Literature Museum and Poet's Hill, it supports various linked programs as a hub of literary infrastructure.
