Designated as a Historic and Scenic Site on June 24, 1966, and as the 9th National Park on October 13, 1972. Gayasan National Park covers a total area of 76.256 km², located where Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do meet. The towering Sangwangbong Peak, also known as Udu Mountain, boasts an elevation of 1,430m. This area has been renowned since ancient times as one of the Ten Scenic Spots of Haedong or one of the Eight Views of Joseon, and it is also the fundamental temple of Korea's Hwaeom sect, home to Haeinsa Temple, a Dharma treasure monastery enshrining the Tripitaka Koreana.<br>Address: 1200 Gayasan-ro, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Gayasan National Park Management Office
