Gongjicheon Recreation Area

The area around Gongjicheon, a local stream connected to the Bukhangang River, is a resting place in the heart of Chuncheon. Along the gently flowing Gongjicheon, various facilities such as Gongjicheon Sculpture Park, Uiam Park, Ethiopia Korean War Memorial Museum, inline skating rink, outdoor performance hall, and fountain are located. You can easily cross between both sides of the waterway via Gongjicheon Bridge and the pedestrian bridge below it. The waterside walking trails and bicycle paths offer beautiful scenery in every season, making them popular year-round. Particularly charming is the spring when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. Bicycles can be rented from nearby rental shops. You can take a light ride around Gongjicheon or complete a full loop of the Uiamho bicycle path that follows the lakeshore. Another way to enjoy Gongjicheon is by riding a pedal boat. The pedal boats drifting leisurely on the water make the scenery of Gongjicheon more romantic.
