Gangwon State Arboretum Hwamokwon

This is a public arboretum operated by Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, opened in 1999 with the purpose of providing forest recreation and nature learning spaces in the city. The Four Seasons Garden consists of about 30 themed gardens, including a foliage plant garden, a subtropical plant garden, a succulent plant garden, and an ecological observation garden, and holds over 1,800 species of plants. Seasonal flowers bloom and wither, offering diverse scenery and enjoyment. In spring, enjoy flower viewing along the cherry blossom path and in the azalea garden; in summer, spend cool moments at the fountain plaza and in the metasequoia forest. In autumn, admire the chrysanthemum exhibition, and in winter, feel the green vitality in the warm glass greenhouse. The Gangwon State Arboretum Hwamokwon also operates a Forest Museum. The Forest Museum features a permanent exhibition hall themed on Gangwon Province's forests, including its animals, plants, and mountain village life, as well as a special exhibition hall and a 3D video theater. The aquatic plant garden, harmonized with a pond, artificial waterfall, and pavilion, and the Children's Garden, a natural playground for kids, are also unmissable highlights of Hwamokwon.<br>
