Why travelers stop here
Jeongseon Joyangsan is a mountain with an elevation of 620m located in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do. It is a mountain that can be seen right after crossing the Joyang River from Jeongseon-eup, and is considered one of Jeongseon's representative famous mountains. When viewed from the direction of Buksil-ri, Joyangsan has a sharp peak that resembles a topknot, so it is also called Sangtubong. The original name of Joyangsan was Daeumsan, but it came to be called by its current name in relation to the Joyang River that passes through Jeongseon. The hiking trails are well maintained, making it one of the mountains frequently visited by hikers. In particular, hiking courses within 4 hours that are linked with the Jeongseon five-day market are well known. Following the main trails such as the Aesan Intersection trail, Seongbulsa Temple trail, and Fountain Park trail, you will pass through the pine forest of Seongbulsa Temple, and from the summit you can see the entire Jeongseon town at a glance. In addition, toward the Joyang River, there is a thousand-foot cliff, allowing you to enjoy beautiful scenery. It is especially famous for its beautiful autumn foliage.
