Chuncheon Lake is an artificial lake located in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, formed by the construction of Chuncheon Dam in 1965, approximately 13 km north of downtown Chuncheon. It covers an area of 17 km², has a storage capacity of about 150 million tons, and its water level is 130 meters above sea level, stretching in an S-shape along the valley. Created by damming the water flowing down from Hwacheon, Chuncheon Lake boasts clear water and a green natural environment, offering beautiful scenery. Around the lake, there are various tourist facilities including a resort area for fishing and water play, a swimming pool, an octagonal pavilion, a spicy fish stew village, and an animation museum. It is popular as a year-round attraction with a drive course connected to Uiam Lake, camping grounds, a recreation forest, and smelt fishing in winter.
