The Battle Monument of Hill 643 is located on the road to the Peace Dam. It was erected to commemorate the achievements of the 6th Division of the Republic of Korea Army and the U.S. 17th Infantry Regiment, who fought against the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's 20th Army at Hill 643 in Suri-bong during the Korean War. The monument was built to honor the victory achieved through hand-to-hand combat and to remember the soldiers who died in the battle.
