Why travelers stop here
Jijangsan Mountain, at an elevation of 877 meters, is also called 'Jijang Cold Valley' because its stream water is as cold as ice, and it boasts outstanding valley scenery. Dense forests and spectacular rocky cliffs create a magnificent view, with small waterfalls and ponds continuously connecting in every valley, making the landscape beautiful. The Jijangsan Valley's ice-cold water flows for 5 kilometers into the Hantan River. On the left side of the valley entrance, small pine trees grow between cliffs that rise like a folding screen, and on the cliff remains the old fortress site of Gung Ye. Along the stream, there is a road passable by cars, and cultural heritage sites such as Daejeon-gi, Gasansanseong Fortress, and the palace site are scattered on both sides of the stream. Jijangsan Valley has abundant natural shade and well-maintained hiking trails, making it convenient to load luggage onto carts and walk up, so it is crowded with vacationers in summer. Nearby are Gyodong Village and Sutgol Village.
