Gopdol Mineral Spring

Gopdol Mineral Spring is a natural spring located within Geomdansan Mountain in Hanam-si. Geomdansan Mountain, with an elevation of 657m, is located east of Hanam City Hall and is renowned as a representative famous mountain of Hanam-si. It is known as a sacred mountain where kings performed ancestral rites to heaven during the Baekje Hanseong period, serving as the Sung Mountain and Guardian Mountain of Hanam Wiryeseong. From the summit of Geomdansan, visitors can enjoy views of Yangsuri where the South Han River and North Han River converge, Hanam-si, as well as Seoul, Yangpyeong, and the area around Paldang Lake, making it a popular day hiking course near Seoul. Located near Seoul with convenient transportation, well-maintained hiking trails, and courses that are not too difficult, it is ideal for family outings as a day hike. For hiking, trails can be accessed from the Sangok Elementary School side in Hasangok-dong or from the lower Baealmil side across Paldang Dam, with the former offering more convenient transportation. Additionally, there is a trail starting from the direction of Korea Animation High School in Changu-dong leading to the Memorial Tower. The hike starting from Hasangok-dong is initially very steep, but old pine trees cover the path mid-mountain, providing good resting spots. From the wide and flat summit, the Bukhansan and Dobongsan mountain ranges are visible in the distance. To the east, Paldang Dam is visible; to the south, the ridge extends to Yongmasan Mountain; and to the west, the Jungbu Expressway runs vigorously. Originally intended for King Sejong the Great's tomb, the site was moved to Yeoju, and the prepared tomb site remains today, telling a piece of history. The grave of Yu Gil-jun, author of "Seoyugyeonmun" (Observations on a Journey to the West), is also located here.
