Jwasangbawi Rock (Hantangang River UNESCO Global Geopark)

Jwasangbawi Rock, rising about 60 meters near the Hantangang River, is a basalt formation created by volcanic activity at the end of the Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic Era, offering an overwhelming landscape. It is known to have been formed by magma erupting around volcanic craters or conduits. The vertical bands observed on the rock are the result of weathering by rain and wind, indicating that it has been exposed above ground for a long time.
