Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Yeoju Village Hangover Soup is a sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) specialty restaurant located in Sang-dong, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do. The interior is clean, with both floor seating and table seating available, and the tables are spaced appropriately for a comfortable atmosphere. The menu is simple, offering only two items: sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) and haejang-guk (hangover soup). The signature dish, sundae-guk, is distinctive in that the broth is red, unlike typical sundae-guk. It is generously filled with traditional sundae, Korean cabbage greens, badger meat, and beef tripe. The soup is not very spicy, with a rich yet refreshing and clean broth. For those who prefer a spicier flavor, minced Cheongyang chili peppers are provided on the side to adjust the heat level. The haejang-guk is made with Korean beef and contains ample portions of beef, coagulated blood, omasum, and Korean cabbage greens. The coagulated blood is firm, springy, and fresh. The clean and refreshing broth is very popular. The restaurant opens early in the morning, attracting many golf course visitors and hangover customers from early hours. Within 4 km, there are many cultural heritage sites such as Geumeunmorae Riverside Park, the birthplace of Empress Myeongseong, Yeongneung Royal Tomb, and Hyojongdaewangneung Royal Tomb, as well as Yeoju Silleuksa Temple, Yeoju Ceramic World, and Hwanghaksan Arboretum.
