The broth is distinctive for its light brown color, unlike the usual milky white. Another popular menu item, the sundae, is stuffed with meat and vegetables instead of glass noodles, so many customers order it together with the sundae gukbap. The perilla seed powder added to the sundae soup is unique, as it is made by first roasting the perilla seeds and then finely grinding them. This results in an even nuttier broth.
