Why travelers stop here
Han Sang-soo Embroidery Museum is an embroidery research institution founded by Han Sang-soo, a holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 80, Embroidery Master. To widely promote Korean embroidery, it was registered as Seoul's No. 20 private museum in 2005 in Bukchon Hanok Village, Gahoe-dong, Jongno-gu, and was responsible for educating curatorial staff and volunteers. After the first director Han Sang-soo passed away in 2016, the museum was relocated to Seongbuk-dong, Seoul, where the Seonjamdan site is located, to widely promote his works and spirit, who dedicated his entire life to the preservation and development of Korean embroidery and led the Korean embroidery community. The main building operates the Han Sang-soo Embroidery Cultural Heritage Academy for permanent exhibition reservation viewing, experiences and education, exchange exhibitions, restoration orders, and academic research. Admission is free, and guided commentary is available. In addition to academy classes, there are daily embroidery experiences, allowing visitors to experience traditional embroidery. It is located 700m from Exit 6 of Hansung University Entrance Station on Seoul Subway Line 4. Nearby Seongbuk-dong, an old city center, is full of attractions.
