Chuncheon Doctor Village

Seomyeon, Chuncheon is an ordinary farming village, but it is a unique village called 'Doctor Village'. The reason is that this village has produced the most doctors per unit population in Korea. Starting with Dr. Song Byeong-deok in 1968, it has produced over 150 doctors to date. Former Prime Minister Han Seung-soo is also one of the talents produced by Doctor Village.

When you enter the village, the first thing that catches your eye is the tomb of General Shin Sung-gyeom, which is neatly arranged like a ski slope. The tomb of General Shin Sung-gyeom, known as one of the eight great auspicious sites in Korea, was a site chosen by King Taejo Wang Geon of Goryeo for his own tomb. It is said that King Taejo Wang Geon personally held a funeral here as a sign of gratitude to General Shin Sung-gyeom, who died in his place in the Battle of Palgongsan Mountain in Daegu. This place is now called one of the eight great auspicious sites in Korea.
