Why travelers stop here
Located in the Sinbong-dong dining district, Sinbong Boribap is a clean and spacious Korean restaurant. It is near Gwanggyosan Mountain, making it a great place for lunch after hiking. The main menu is barley bibimbap, mixed with seven types of namul (seasoned vegetables), gochujang (red chili paste), and sesame oil. If you prefer a soup instead of rice, the siraegi sujebi (hand-torn dough soup with dried radish greens) is also a delicacy. The side dishes available for order, such as jeyuk bokkeum (stir-fried spicy pork) and jjukkumi bokkeum (stir-fried spicy webfoot octopus), are cooked upon order with direct flame grilling to bring out a smoky flavor, and they taste great when mixed into the barley bibimbap. The sesame oil is freshly pressed and placed on each table, offering a rich nuttiness. The accompanying doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) is made with a broth from pollock heads, dried anchovies, barley shrimp, anchovies, kelp, radish, and green onions, and adding a few spoonfuls to the bibimbap enhances its flavor. Parking is available at the dedicated parking lot in front of the building or at the public parking lot.
